Blogovia, our online blog/message board has been overflowing with
partisan talk the past few days. The reason for this is because I’ve
been engaging in some campaigning against Barack Obama and those actions
have raised the hackles of many of our virtual citizens. (The word
propaganda comes to mind, and might be applicable here.)
Blogovians wonder what has
come over me. First of all,
I cannot find it in me to campaign FOR John McCain. I have been bitterly
disappointed by the actions/inactions of the Bush administration and
those of the Republican Party as a whole.
I am a proud member of the GOP and am sickened by the party’s
deterioration over the past four years.
During the Democratic
primary season, I was greatly relieved that the American public saw fit
NOT to put the
Clinton
’s back in office. My dealings with
Bill
and Hill have been profoundly unsatisfactory.
One summer they decided to
vacation in
Yellowstone
Park
which is dandy. It happens to be a great place to recreate. What was
utterly awful about it was the fact that I was forced to help locate 80
motel rooms in my little town for the Clintons and their entourage. Room
reservations for the
Yellowstone
area must be made sometimes a year in advance and, trust me when I tell
you, in August there is not a room at the inn.
In order to accommodate the President, good families like yours
and mine were bumped into the street with no warning and no explanation.
(The travel arrangements of the
President must be kept top secret for security purposes.) To make
matters worse, after the rooms were freed-up, the
Clintons
didn’t even bother to use them! The rooms sat vacant over the weekend
because the
Clintons
decided at the last minute to stay in
Jackson
,
Wyoming
. The end of the story is that I had to finally go through my Senator,
Conrad Burns, to get the rooms paid for.
That’s when I wrote a letter firing the President. (He didn’t
leave, though.)
My regret over my party’s
failed policy pales against the overwhelming sense of fear and mistrust
I have for Barack Obama. You
see, Obama has failed my patriot test and, at least in my mind, a
president of the
United States
must be a patriot first and foremost.
Obama sat in Reverend
Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years.
I’ve just heard snippets of the man’s sermons and I know I
couldn’t have stayed in the same room with him for more than two
minutes. I happen to love American and any human who would give that
“God Damn America” sermon needs to be shot as a traitor. It’s just
that simple for me. That Obama and his wife and his children are steeped
in such hatred makes him fundamentally unfit to serve this country in
any capacity. (What’s wrong with those folks in
Illinois
, anyway?) One does not willingly listen for twenty years to that hate
speech and come away clean. Barack Obama does not love this country. He
is not a patriot and he does not deserve to represent it.
The only thing that could be worse, in my mind, would be an Obama/Clinton
ticket. Then I really might have to move to a third world country.
